iBirdSongs™: Requirements
The following is a summary of the basic requirements of iBirdSongs™.
Windows Requirements
- Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later
- 500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
- QuickTime 7.1.3 (included with iTunes)
- 256MB RAM
- 1GB of available hard disk space
- 800 x 600 high color display
- CD-ROM drive
Macintosh Requirements
- Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
- 500MHz G3 processor or better
- QuickTime 6.5.2 or later
- 256MB RAM
- 1GB of available hard disk space
- 800 x 600 thousands of colors display
- CD-ROM drive
Internet Requirements
- Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for downloading software-only products. Products are also available on CD-ROM if you do not have a broadband connection.
Apple iTunes® (Free download from apple.com)
- iTunes 5 & up.
- Note: iTunes 7.0 & 7.0.1 are incompatible with iBirdSongs™ due to a software bug in iTunes. This bug is fixed in iTunes 7.0.2 & up.
Stokes Field Guide to Bird Songs: Eastern and/or Western Region
- You must have a working copy of one or both of the Stokes bird song audio CD sets.
Apple iPod®
- iBirdSongs™ works with most iPods including the iPhone.
- An iPod is not required to use iBirdSongs™. You can access your bird songs and all the iBirdSongs™ features from your Windows or Macintosh computer. It just won't be as mobile as an iPod.
- iBirdSongs™ does not work with either of the iPod Shuffles.
- iBirdSongs™ photos are not available on iPod Minis or iPod generations 1-3.
